I cant tell you how many times I have heard the words " You are such a Martha Stewart" (haha) I just love crafting, diy, painting, sewing, and home decorating. It gives me great satisfaction to look around my house and say " I MADE THAT!"

Board and Batten

I am FINISHED!!! It was like the heavens opened up and I was hearing the angels sing! I LOVE how it turned out! Cole's big boy room is so much cuter than I even thought it would be. Ok here are the pictures of the finished walls. I will show you my process first! ;)

I bought 4ft strips from Lowes for $1.98 each

From August 23, 2011

Space them 14 inches apart and level and nail them in place.

From August 23, 2011

I painted 3 coats of white on the wall before I added the strips to save time.

From August 23, 2011

  I added a 3inch x 8 white boards across the top.

  2. Looks totally great! I've been trying to get my hubs to do it for me!! Do you have textured walls though? We do and I've been wondering if it'll look wierd with the texture, or if we'll have to do some sort of backing before the trim?

Thank you! Our wall are flat so I am not sure how it would look with textured walls. You could buy thin backing and put it underneath. I know some people prefer that look anyways.

  7. I love this look! I want to do it as a surround for my bathtub. The previous owners used CARPET. SERIOUSLY? Ugh.

  8. @ Jordan,
I think it would look great in a bathroom! Carpet really... that is sick, haha ;) Let me know if you get it done, I would love to see it!

  13. Hi Anonymous,

We used 1 inch x 4ft white board precut wood slats. I found them at the very beginning of our isle at Lowes in cubbies under the open stock lunmber. I hope this helps! :)
