Just wanted to share this picture of Cole at my husband's Deployment Ceremony. Before Greg's deployment, I never realized the great sacrifices, and heavy burdens that are placed on the family of a soldier. To hear my children ask everyday "When is Daddy coming home?" and to know the answer is one, they will not understand. It is just heartbreaking.
Here is another picture I found while I was on pinterest today...
If I saw this picture a year ago, I would of thought "how sad". Now that I am a wife of a soldier overseas... I burst into sobs... because it really is SAD! Each pair of those boots represent a soldier, who laid down his life for MY freedom. He or she was someone's child, spouse, sibling, or friend. Those aren't just boots lined up in a row... they are memorials. To help us remember WHAT FREEDOM COSTS!
I am so thankful for the men and woman who serve our great country each and everyday! I am blessed to be the wife of an amazing man, who felt called to serve his country at 17 years old.
Lord give me the strength I need to stand by my soldier. Give me the peace I need get through the long nights without him, and the faith to know it is all in your hands!
This is just what was on my heart today, so I thought I would share. :) I hope you have a wonderful week. I have a few awesome projects coming up soon! Just taking it slow on the blog, so I can be here for my kids! I know you guys understand!
Thanks for stopping by,
Jeni
Great post! We owe our service men and women so much! I'm so thankful for them.
ReplyDeleteI think listening to Dr. Laura has given me an appreciation for soldier wives. As a law enforcement wife I know we have to be strong, to say goodbye each day and have faith that our spouses will come home. For military wives you say goodbye for much longer, and I can't imagine how difficult the day to day is. The warrior wives are every bit as important to the strength of our county as their spouses that serve. I thank you for your commitment to your soldier who in turn, with your support, can protect my freedom!
ReplyDeleteand imagine how greater it was for Jesus to lay down His life for ours! xo
ReplyDeleteYou have to be a strong, resourceful woman for your husband and children while he's deployed. My husband was deployed twice and even though our children were not babies and all in elementary school, it was not easy. You will sometimes have the ability to visit via technology and that is such a wonderful time to look forward to. Be assured that many people are praying for you and your husband as he honors his commintment. I am so thankful for his willingness to serve our country. God's blessings on you.
ReplyDeleteSo true
